Today’s Roman Station Church is the Basilica di Santa Prassede — or the Basilica of Saint Praxedes, one of the daughters of Senator Pudenz.
She was martyred for having such strong devotion to the other Roman martyrs. She and her sister, Saint Pudenziana, cared for the remains of the Roman Martyrs to ensure they would not be profaned. Both also cared for Sts. Peter and Paul, who were hosted in the home of the sister Saints’ father.
