Lent 2025: San Clemente: Layers of Faith and the Triumph of the Cross

Today’s Station Church is very special to me. It’s beyond beautiful, but it’s also the first church wherein I ever heard Mass in Rome. I was on pilgrimage as a senior in high school, and we arrived on Sunday evening to Rome from Orvieto. Monday morning, early early, we walked from Trastevere to the Basilica of San Clemente, which sits near the Colosseum. I didn’t make the connection until years late with this apostolate that the Station Churches have been a part of my life since 2009!!
