When St. Margaret Mary was before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament one day, He showed her His Divine Heart, saying:

“Behold this Heart which has so loved men, that it has spared nothing, even to the exhausting and wearing itself out, to manifest to them its love; and in recompense, I receive for the most part only ingratitude, contempt, irreverence, sacrilege, and the indifference which they show Me in this Sacrament of love.”
