O Crux Ave!

Prayer in honor of the Seventh Sorrow of Mary: The Burial of Jesus

Most sorrowful Virgin, sorrow again filled your heart when the sacred body of your Son was taken from your arms, and placed in a cold grave. Yet you did not doubt that He would rise again.

We should always look at the Cross, lovingly, and with expectant hope. Remember that the hope of the Resurrection is not some abstract thought. The hope you should foster and carry in your heart is a hope that looks to that place where there will be no sadness, for He:

…shall wipe away all tears from [our] eyes: and death shall be no more. Nor mourning, nor crying, nor sorrow shall be any more, for the former things are passed away.

And He that sat on the throne, said: Behold, I make all things new. And He said to me: Write. For these words are most faithful and true…

And, He says not to us “write”…but “live”…live in the Word who is faithful and true.

How often we forget this. How often we should remind ourselves by looking upon Christ Crucified….how often…
