Merry Christmas!
I pray you found a moment of peace at the feet of the Infant Jesus asleep in the manger.
Offer your heart, as His friend, that He might have a place to rest His Head.
The Creator of the universe… even He was not given a place to be born! An anticipation of what the evangelist John would say: “He came to his own home, and his own received him not” (1:11); and what Jesus Himself would say: “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head” (Lk 9:58).
In all your joys, in all your sorrows, in all your relations, in all your peace, in all your restlessness… know that you can offer your heart to this Infant King, already laying on the wood of the manger, that He might find rest. In that way, in these days, in this coming year, and in the moments and years to come… in that way, you will be sanctified.
Make it so that He no longer has to say the Son of man has nowhere to lay His Head…
