In our daily lives, if the words of St John of the Cross are not our preoccupation, we should really be worried. It isn’t enough to seemingly have the exterior of our lives ordered, offering to God what we think is most pure, most perfect, most orderly….

Rather, the life of Grace, that life of silence where only the whisper of a gentle air is heard, that should be our preoccupation. It’s there that we find God, it’s there that we have confidence for that day of judgment, because it’s there that we will be able to love, to give of ourselves unreservedly…
